Not Your Normal Engineering Design Firm

3D Printing
Take advantage of the revolutionary system of 3D Printing and 3D scanning to create a competitive edge for your business. To 3D print any object is quick, affordable and simple to create and can be used for modeling, prototyping, production applications and rapid manufacturing.

- Stratasys FDM Quantum Fused Deposition Modeling System. Thermoplastics are heated and are deposited through an extrusion head.
SIZE -This 3D Printer has one of the largest build envelopes at 24” X 20” X 24” (600mm x 500mm x 600mm) on the market.
TIME - Reduce the conceptual and design stage and speed up your time to market which equates to a greater return on investment. You can now build in hours not days or weeks.
COST - We are extremely competitive in our pricing structure. We can assist you on the most feasible and cost effective method that will work for your company.
SIMPLICITY- Using your CAD files we can create your model at a fraction of the time traditional methods would take. At Area 51 Machine Design we use and are conversant with a number of Computer Aided Design software programs. If you do not have a CAD file we can offer you a design group second to none. The team at Area 51 Machine Design are a group of gifted engineers that have been nominated by APEGA for their revolutionary engineering designs.
Our Stratasys FDM Quantum / Maxum uses the fused deposition modeling (FDM) of ABS thermoplastic which is heated to 280C and deposited through an extrusion head. Support material is used for any overhangs or angles greater than 45 degrees that need supporting. This support material is broken or dissolved away leaving only the final part in ABS plastic.

Layer Thickness in ABS: 0.010 inch (0.254 mm) – T16 tip 0.007 inch (0.178 mm) – T12 tip 0.005 inch (0.127 mm) – T10 tip

Models are produced within an accuracy of +/-.005 inch (+/- .127 mm) up to 5 inches (127 mm). Accuracy on models greater than 5 inches (127 mm) is +/- .0015 inch per inch (+/-.0015 mm per mm). Note: Accuracy is geometry dependent.
We are able to import a number of file types. For quick and accurate quotes, you can send us a STL file.
